Utilization of arterial transposition for vascular reconstruction within contaminated or infected abdominal fields

IntroductionIntra-abdominal arterial reconstructions in the setting of re-operative, contaminated or frankly infected fields can be a challenging undertaking for even most experienced vascular surgeons. Open surgical transpositions are less commonly performed than other methods reconstruction current era surgery despite many historical reports successful outcomes. Autologous artery represent viable option cases operative fields.Case descriptionsWe describe three patients treated at our institution who required intra-abdominal revascularization fields. All were successfully using open native visceral transposition procedures.ConclusionsThese presented multiple challenges secondary to ongoing infections, fields, and sometimes histories bypasses involving aorta arteries. During such circumstances, we demonstrated effectiveness as feasible techniques.
